Please take a minute to consider this key idea that just came to me, in light of the concepts I discussed in my last blog:Your choices are a natural outgrowth of your world view and consciousness.
Now, let me illustrate with a personal example how this works in real life.
When I had a more common world view, I fell into all the same traps as do those who seek my counsel today. I was not setting up causes that would bring about life-generating effects. In my choices, I followed the examples around me. I acted and reacted like the adults I had watched as a youngster, or like my peers. I assumed that they knew what they were doing, that this was simply how life was, so I adapted accordingly.
Like anyone else, I lived under the influence of common values (despite getting more than my fair share of religion). I was raised with family quarreling, abuse, constant dramas, and all the rest. Add to that extreme emphasis upon physical beauty, clothing, financial success, and other such qualities that were highly valued in my community. This is the consciousness or world view that I accepted from my youth and continued to be fed over the years. This consciousness was at the root of my values; my values were at the root of my choices; and my choices created the effects that constituted my life. My every life choice revolved around either the attainment of these values or the fear of failing to attain them.
With that world view directing my life choices, or the CAUSES I set up, you can imagine the fruits of those causes, or the EFFECTS. I fed and perpetuated dramas, addictions, lacked any understanding of what I truly was as a human being, and felt the intense pressure to excel in the designated areas just to gain the respect and approval of my community. Of course, in the meantime, I felt horribly trapped in this sad reality and was extremely dissatisfied with everything. I can tell you this for sure: I never felt the current of Life Force Energy flowing through me when I was at that level of blocked physicality and consciousness!
So, you see, I have been there. I have worn the foggiest glasses of all! It was not until my world view and consciousness changed and I released my misguided perspectives on life that my life experience dramatically changed.
One thing I did carry with me all those years was this nagging sense that there was more to life than what I’d been led to believe (even in all my years of going to church). Finally, when I was really sick and tired of the disappointing fruits of my life, I set out with everything in me to get to the root of the matter. I set about it like a woman dying of thirst for truth: I had to find it or die trying. I did not just knock on the doors of truth. I pounded, I wedged, I directed my thoughts toward this pursuit with an unyielding determination.
Little by little, like catching drops from the waters of life, I savored them until I got closer and closer to the source. As I integrated what I learned (the ideal ways to care for the body, relate to others, spend my time, invest my energies, etc.) with equal zeal, I finally found the gold—the inner nectar that connects us to the source of all life. It is a sweet place to be, a place that all of us can find and enjoy. It’s as simple (and as challenging) as replacing the old, tired self-conceptions with a higher vision and implementing that higher vision into every aspect of our lives. That is when our choices yield the most abundant, delightful, life-generating fruits.
So, once again, take a moment each day to reflect on the following idea until you feel all your choices are governed by a clearer consciousness: Your choices are a natural outgrowth of your world view and consciousness.Make deliberate choices from this higher consciousness and you’ll direct a beautiful life.

Are you the kind of person who just lets life happens to you, or are you the kind who directs what happens in your life? Do you have the best of intentions but ultimately wind up going wherever the tide carries you, or do you stand tall at the helm of your life, overcoming the shifting tides, and take the necessary steps to achieve your dreams?
All of you are here because you understand that health and harmony are keys to true happiness, but many of you who are still addicted to old ways (such as the holiday parties and feasts, the M&M’s on your coworker’s desk, or the last-minute business trip) can wind up throwing your best intentions right out the window, and—whoops, there you go again!—only to beat yourself up and try anew the next day. You all want to fulfill your potential, but to do so you must set up the CAUSES that create that EFFECT. You must begin by accepting your power to direct your life!
Every single one of us has the power to change our circumstances according to the law of cause and effect. The mistake that most people make when trying to change their diet is to focus on controlling just the intake of food. But what we choose to eat is just an outgrowth of a much bigger world view rooted in our consciousness. Therefore if our world view and level of consciousness remains the same, dietary changes can only be temporary at best. So, what must occur is a full-scale world view consciousness-raising which will make dietary changes—along with other forms of meaningful change—natural and easy.
For example, if we know ourselves to be natural beings, made up of animated Life Force Energy and consciousness, we would never think of consuming the crude meals that pass for “normal” in society. If, on the other hand, we are unconscious of are true nature and believe that we were designed to eat everything from farmed chickens to Doritos and donuts, we will mindlessly eat those foods, for they will be right at our level of consciousness. We must accept that eating “normal” foods has rendered modern mankind unconscious.
Right now, I’m coming off the tail end of a 16-day juice fast and experiencing the waves of intense bliss flowing through my body every moment, along with deep, powerful, spiritual dreams at night and awakening to blissful surges in the morning. There is no doubt in my mind that the cleaner our cells become, the more we will tap into the truth of who and what we are, and realize our great, natural ability to conduct Life Force Energy.
I’m not suggesting anyone must undertake a long fast to do this, but I am suggesting strongly that our choices will inevitably be misguided if we are so blocked by our lifestyle habits that we don’t even know who we are as humans. From that blocked, clogged consciousness, we are completely unfit to make life-generating choices. Therefore, it is essential to cleanse the body, shed the old ideas of what’s okay to eat, and give the detox lifestyle a chance. As we become clear, we become able to direct our lives for our highest good. I urge you to take a leap of faith to elevate your world view and invest in the idea that humans are capable of far more than is commonly believed. Explore this possibility and see how your body and consciousness respond…
FIRST, FULLY ACCEPT THAT YOU CHOOSE EVERYTHING AROUND YOU. Starting today, you will no longer let yourself be carried by the random events that pop up around you and spread your power thin—but rather, you will concentrate your thought-power and make deliberate, clear choices that are united with your highest vision for yourself. You will consciously set up the CAUSES and likewise take responsibility for their EFFECTS.
The generation before us was conditioned to think that the state or the medical industry was responsible for the outcome of their lives. They foolishly invested their faith in these institutions. Today, we are seeing that this faith was misplaced. The medical and pharmaceutical establishments turned out to be corrupt, and our parents are falling victim to the bizarre ailments that are so prevalent in older people today. Further, so many of our peers have struggled to reproduce, while so many of our children have been dealt bizarre but now common childhood illnesses.
These are the effects of causes that come from going where ever the tide takes us. But no one wants to be flung about like a fly in the wind or a piece of flotsam in the great wide ocean. So why don’t we all direct our own lives with deliberate, clear leadership? Two reasons: (1) we think it’s too much effort and fear taking responsibility for our choices; and (2) we weren’t raised to be aware of the option of self-direction.
Every moment that we consciously direct our choices, we experience more outcomes of our own making. And then, my friends, we really start creating, which is what we were all born to do. You might say, “Well, things can come up that are completely unexpected. How can you direct that?” You may not know what is going to come your way at first, but YOU CAN DIRECT HOW YOU RESPOND TO EVERYTHING THAT COMES YOUR WAY.
As the director of my life, I find I write the best scripts when I have the whole motion picture in mind rather than separate little scenes. Here are some tips for creating a great premise to help you get started. First, think of all the things that make life grand: a happy, peaceful state of mind, a healthy clean body, a natural joy that inspires playfulness and creativity, people whom you love and trust and enjoy spending time with, and anything else you can think of. Now, here’s how you start setting up the causes.
1) Start with a space of Love within your body and home. You can only expect good things to flow into your life if you start by creating a space of love. Think of it as a seed that you nourish and grow by focusing on it, until you can hold the vibration of love in your being for longer and longer periods—dedicating time every day to generating and refreshing it. Eventually, you will be able to hold the Love vibration in your body until you are filled with it nearly all the time. When Love flows through your body, you release unhealthy competitiveness, fear, aggression and resentment. In other words, you release the destructive energies that come with drama fed by emotional imbalance. Soon, you can direct all of your attention to the feeling of Love, which will yield the most pleasant effects. Consider this in light of the biblical insight, “By their fruits ye shall know them”; and “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit.”
A wonderful thing happens once you start to embody the charge of Love on a regular basis: you create a personal space that takes on the vibration of Love, and suddenly everyone who enters your space can feel it. Your room, apartment, home, farm, or wherever else you have nurtured it, becomes a place of healing for anyone who enters it or lives there. If you have a family, you will set the tone for them just by quietly feeling and emitting the charge of Love. Your children and other family members will quietly feel and enjoy. They will sleep better, speak more kindly, have more inspired ideas—all because you were able to create this space of Love first within yourself, setting up the cause for this glorious effect!
2) Direct your relationship world. Once you tune into harmony and the energy of Love, you will be able to create much more consciously the relationships in your life. You will be able to see more clearly why dramas break out, and how to eliminate them from your life. In the muddiness of common perception, we let random personalities into our lives for various reasons—for instance, because they belong to our country club, or are in the same business, or their children are classmates with ours, etc. But when you start directing your relationship experience, you start to weed through those associations you’ve accumulated and determine which ones you really want to cultivate.
You will also be much more apt to choose new relationships that improve the quality of your “film.” With your more gentle and compassionate heart, it will pain you to speak unkindly to others. You will be more sensitized to words and feelings as living energy and find old, untoward ways of speaking and reacting just don’t sit well with you anymore. It will be impossible for you to support relationships that are not life-generating or engage in useless dramas any longer. You will be free from the manipulation of others. The more people awaken to this, the more we can start relating in mutually supportive ways.
3) Direct what you put into your body. Now you see clearly that common foods and drinks are utterly incompatible with your understanding of humanity and the human body. This makes it much easier to avoid those cookies that appear in the office that you once found irresistible. In fact, following a Quick-Exit/vegetable-centric diet seems so obvious and easy to you with this new vision. You ask yourself how you could ever have questioned whether humans could live without cooked animal protein, milk, yogurt and dense foods; or how you could have believed that products made of soy and seitan and all that cooked grain were essential to a healthy vegetarian diet. Now, your idea of vegetarian is VEGETABLES, with bits of transition foods when you need them. Wow, so much has changed, and yet it’s so easy because when you are unblocked and living with the Life Force pulsating through you, it feels so right. Now that you have a better idea of what a human is, it will strike you as more and more bizarre that people ever accepted these man-made concoctions as food to begin with.
So you see, instead of resolving to stick to a new diet, which always has the same disappointing result, we have instead elevated our world view/consciousness and thus achieved a total dietary makeover. And well beyond even that, we have achieved a new, beautiful life experience that keeps on generating more joy, inspiration, and Love—the effects of the causes we have set up keep unfolding with great abundance!
So, this New Year’s Eve, forget the petty resolutions. Take a big, bold move. You can start right now and raise your vision up from the common belief that we are just here to reproduce, work all day, eat dead food, glimpse happiness a few times if we’re lucky, and then deteriorate. That is a lie. There is a great source of Life Force Energy and it can be enjoyed by all. You tap into it by tuning into the vibration of Love and clearing your body of the old waste that blocks it from flowing abundantly through you. This energy brings eternal life to everything it touches. It can heal your organs, your emotional pain, your sagging skin, and revive a tired mind with inspiration and deep joy. Don’t let old beliefs and dietary habits direct your vision for yourself for another moment. Set up your space of Love, let it flow around you and heal everything it touches, and watch how your beautiful motion picture unfolds!

Anger. Such a loaded word, but how many of us really understand anger? Words like “light” and “love” are trendy among the enlightenment-seekers. Those are wonderful words and, yes, they carry great energy and power. But so does “anger.”
Anger is the desire to protect. It is not some dark, evil emotion that we should shun or quell. Yet anger can be grossly misdirected and expressed. When anger is ignored or suppressed, it percolates and waits for an opportunity to express itself out of its original context.
It is time we give this glorious emotion we call anger the welcome place in our lives it deserves and learn how to use it to make necessary adjustments. (I learned about anger from the great modern mystic, Almine Barton, whose audios and videos I highly recommend). Anger and pain are very similar in that they are both calls for change. For example, an individual might suffer a heart attack and thus decide to change his diet, stop drinking so much, and reduce stress in his life. The level of emergency is equal to the intensity of the pain.
It’s typical in our culture to quiet any initial instance of pain by artificial means, muffling it until it finally bursts forth as an alarm bell—making the need for dramatic change unmistakable. This built-in protection mechanism ensures that, however far off course we go, at some point we will find our way back on track. The only way to avoid great pain, however, is to watch for small signs of imbalance and correct them immediately.
Like pain, anger is an alarm bell that sounds when the wholeness of our being (the microcosmic body or the macrocosmic community) is under threat. Our true essence, which I will refer to as the Soul/Spirit, knows its true origin. Our Soul/Spirit knows it is not a body limited by the confines of the rules and restrictions of modern society.
Our Soul/Spirit’s built-in protective mechanism—its Inner Warrior—will revolt against anything that limits its power and threatens its purity. At the core of our suppressed anger, as individuals and as a community, is the conflict between our powerful Soul/Spirit and the social confines that tie us down. Imagine the fury of limitless beings in a world of limitation. We are like a caged lions!
From infancy, we step right into the trap of these social confines without knowing the consequences. When we are children, even our own parents threaten our inner balance with clear messages that they are the boss and we must not question them. We are told that the adults know best and we must obey them without explanation. In our innocent vulnerability, we are exposed to myriad experiences where our borders go unprotected and we bear the brunt of behaviors that throw us off balance. A child’s cries of anger may not always be audible, but make no mistake, they are there.
This creates the first layer of suppressed anger, which hardly ever gets released because modern psychotherapy overlooks it altogether. Only a healer or counselor who understands our connection to God-consciousness (seeing ourselves as part of the great whole) can help us to connect our anger to our ego-identification (seeing ourselves as a consciousness confined by the body). Thus, the Soul/Spirit’s immediate feelings of limitation are quickly repressed during infancy and childhood, and pushed deep into the subconscious.
When we see ourselves as a body in ego-identification, every decision we make is structured around making ourselves comfortable and protecting our fragile, needy personalities, always looking out for “number one.” These actions only shrink our being. We busy our Inner Warrior with obsessive-compulsive fears that feed imbalance and unhappiness. The Inner Warrior becomes a slave to the little-self, while everything in the outside world perceived to either threaten or bolster it becomes enormously important.
When we spend our lives protecting our fragile egos, following all the things that society tells us we must do in order to keep our egos comfortable, we neglect the truly powerful beings lying dormant within us.
When we experience profound moments of dissatisfaction and frustration in our lives, this is a sign of the Higher Self (or God-consciousness) trying to speak up. This deep inner agitation exhibits symptoms just as physical illness does when the body is out of harmony. Many of us don’t understand these feelings of rage and depression. As a result, we might fall into vicious, addictive cycles of drama in our lives, or simply medicate to numb the feelings. In anger, we are all too quick to cast blame on others, on our lot in life, or on our past choices. Unexamined anger emits endless negativity and casts all kinds of blame. Like pain, however, anger will only intensify until it forces us to see the real threat to our well-being: the mistaken belief that we are small and limited.
There can be no real satisfaction in serving the little self—only addiction to the continuous consumption of external stimulation. Until we stop taking these “drugs” (including self-congratulation, victim-hood, celebrity, superiority, cheap media entertainment, consumption of chemicals in foods, drinks, and medications) and recognize how far from the path of truth we have strayed, the anger will boil. However, we do not need to wait for anger to boil over into tragedy to decide it’s time to reclaim our lives. We can begin to listen to the subtlest signs of our Inner Warriors right now.
At the deepest level anger protects our Highest Self from being forgotten or sidelined, but on the individual level anger arises to protect our wholeness from external threat. When the inner being is balanced, it is at peace. We can lead a physical existence that supports a deeper understanding of life, strong relationships, and abundant creativity.
As individuals, we each have the potential to achieve a divine balance of physical, emotional, and mental wellness in our life. Our Inner Warrior is always watching and ready to protect that balance, but we must nurture it and listen for its signals. If we don’t listen, anger will accumulate in our energy field (just as food substances that cannot be digested accumulate in our bodies) and nest in our cells and tissues, and might eventually manifest in physical illness.
When we know what signals to look for, we can stop getting angry at the drop of a hat over something that is completely unrelated to the root cause of our anger. Instead, we can protect our inner being the moment it is threatened. If we do not express our anger in its true context, that anger will seek other channels of release. The energy must go somewhere. Anger that has traveled far from its origin (where it was created to protect our inner being) and mutated over time is corrupted anger. This kind of anger, when you finally express it, will almost always leave you feeling remorseful, defeated, and confused.
The next time you feel anger, say to yourself, “Wow, I feel my anger rising up right now. My Inner Warrior has been awakened. Who is threatening my borders?” The more sensitive you are to the signals of your Inner Warrior, the more quickly and intelligently you will be able to identify the origin of the offense. The signal might be in your hands, such as when you nervously tap them or your palms start to sweat. Or you might feel it in your head, as a kind of heat collecting there or in a constriction of your throat. Or it might be a bad feeling in your stomach, or an increased heart rate. Once you’ve followed the signal to the source of the offense, your Inner Warrior generally won’t need to attack, but simply make a readjustment of the situation.
For example, let’s say you are speaking with someone who is trying to make you feel inferior. Your palms start to sweat, which you know is your Inner Warrior alerting you to a threat to your inner being. You realize that you do not need to stand there and absorb the offensive remarks of this person, so you either point out their misperception or simply excuse yourself. The dangerous alternative would be to make polite conversation and then get angry out of context later.
Conquering outside circumstances to prevent the accumulation of toxic anger requires vigilance—just as protecting the body from unfit substances requires vigilance. Making the extra effort is well worth it. When we befriend our anger and communicate well with it, cutting offenders to our inner being off at the pass, we prevent the infestation of anger within our families and our communities at large. When we are lazy with our anger, we corrupt it and let it become exponentially more acute and we pass it along to others.
Anger can be a powerful tool that helps us to restore balance and clarity in our lives.

Isn’t Independence Day wonderful? It’s a celebration not only of our freedom from monarchal rule, but also of our free will. Free will is the most precious of our inalienable rights and, despite all the finger-pointing from other countries (and from ourselves), we are free to pursue our own path to happiness in this country.
Here’s the caveat: free will is absolutely useless if you don’t know what your options are. How are you supposed to pursue happiness if you don’t know what happiness even is? How can you cultivate a healthy, radiant body if you don’t know what “healthy” even means? You will not find many good examples in the media or among your peers.
Independence is the opposite of following the herd or letting others dictate your actions. For example, if you are addicted to substances that keep you reaching for the coffee, drugs, flour, sugar, and other unfit food items, you are as independent as a marionette. Independence requires snipping away the puppet strings of addiction and fruitless social expectations so that you can exercise free will. Free will requires access to yourwhole self.
If years ago I hadn’t decided to ignore all the voices of conformity and reach for full independence based on the highest good that I knew at each turn, I would have rapidly degenerated into a sick, heavy, depressed mother of two most unfortunate kids! Instead, I’ve launched myself up the spiral of cleansing and rejuvenation, taking me well beyond my former limitations—and I invite you to join me.
To help you on your own journey of independence, my colleague and good friend, Gil Jacobs (contact Organic Avenue at 212-334-4593 for information about his future lectures) and I put our heads together to bring to light the most advanced knowledge available on health and human evolution. We’ve outlined for you 14 basic premises that will answer most of your questions when considered within the Major Underlying Context stated below. Remember, each premise must be taken as part of the whole to remain pure. Take time to consider each one to confirm in your soul whether its truth resonates within you. If you feel resistance, that’s okay. I’ve laid out these premises for those of you who are ready for them.
MAJOR UNDERLYING CONTEXT
You are one with the Great Power of Creation (God), but you have followed a plan that has blocked your access to this power. This power is manifested in the mind (God Kingdom) as well as in the body (Temple), which conducts the electromagnetic manifestation of the Life Force current (God Power). No matter what your history is, this power is well within your reach if you remove the blockages to it. Recovering the Life Force current in the body enables you to restore power to the kingdom of God within you. This requires overcoming corrupt old orthodoxies and habits, which will sometimes be enjoyable and at other times greatly daunting. Prepare for both experiences. To regenerate yourself and tap your full power, you must adopt some unorthodox methods. Fear not! This is a matter of stepping out of the imprisoning darkness into the liberating light of advanced knowledge.
PREMISE #1: The cause of all illness is waste matter sticking to and poisoning human tissue. The correction of all illness is the removal of this waste matter. The correct approach to this removal, what we call transitioning, is the key to success.
PREMISE #2: Illness and waste come from the consistent intake of unfit foods and substances, which is everything other than raw fruits and vegetables and their juices.
PREMISE #3: We can make the biggest strides toward healing (returning the body—and from there, the world—to its natural clean state of peace and happiness) through deep tissue cleansing. The poisoning of the human body is the cause of anger, violence, crime, war, and other discordant emotional experiences. When stuck in a polluted body, we are compelled to seek satisfaction outside of ourselves—for example, in power, ownership, money, sex, etc. Cleansing awakens us from the madness of conformity and moves us toward peace, love and acceptance. Polluting the Earth (landfills, deforestation, and the general over-consumption and waste of vital resources) is a direct analogy to the human body. To heal the world, we must begin by healing ourselves.
PREMISE #4: The purpose of tissue cleansing through transition diet and elimination is not merely to perfect our diets, live longer, stay out of doctors’ offices, or look beautiful. Rather, it is finally to bring an end to the emotional, psychological, and spiritual suffering that we have inflicted on ourselves and others for far too long.
PREMISE #5: Corruption of the body through the consumption of unfit substances is carried through our lineage in the physical blueprint of the DNA. Each generation of the human family is born more compromised and prone to physical and mental illness than the preceding one. Hence, our children are getting sicker and heavier. Birth defects, emotional/mental imbalances, and cancers are on the rise. The only cure for childhood illness is to clean up the corruption of our DNA through deep tissue cleansing.
PREMISE #6: Allopathic medicine observes only what the population exhibits. If people are asymptomatic (i.e., not complaining of a particular symptom), they are considered “healthy”—despite latent illness proliferating in their bodies. Most of our culture is asymptomatic by conventional standards, but in reality very few people today are healthy. Research is never done on clean-celled individuals. Even the odd study on vegetarians or vegans does not count; as we have seen, merely omitting animal products from the diet does not ensure health. Drugs are tested and deemed “safe” if they do not appear lethal to an organ or individual over the test period, while their long-term use leads to organ damage and birth defects. Rather than treating illness at its source (the waste matter in the tissues), mainstream medicine merely represses symptoms. This perversion of the concept of healthcare is unacceptable.
PREMISE #7: If your body is significantly corrupted with modern ailments, allopathic medicine will work for you insofar as it will make you more comfortable for the time being. If you are dependent on modern medicine, you cannot expect alternative healing modalities (acupuncture, chiropractics, faith healing, etc.) to offer real solutions. Antibiotics, for example, are necessary for the average polluted body suffering from bronchitis. A body must undergo deep tissue cleansing over a sufficient period of time to be free of its illnesses and dependence on allopathic medicines. It will generally take more than just a few weeks or months of cleansing to remove the depth of poisoning and free the body from this false health paradigm. Most alternative healing methods (such as Chinese and Aruyvedic) are rooted in subtle ancient traditions to heal subtle illnesses—and are not designed for the dramatic modern illnesses that are so common today.
PREMISE #8: Vitamins, minerals and “super-foods” are a waste and a distraction. Indications of malnutrition in blood, hair or urine analysis occurs when food is sticking like glue to the tissues, creating noxious gasses that eat up the minerals and vitamins. Vitamin-pushers work off the premise that imbalances can be corrected by replacing substances that the body is lacking—essentially reducing health to what we put into the body. This backward thinking makes naturopathic healing no better than allopathic medicine, treating the symptom instead of the cause. There is only one cause of nutrient deficiencies in our culture today: the clogging of the body from permeated waste. Where and the extent to which it accumulates determines the nature of the imbalance. When we understand that health is having a clean-celled body that will naturally regenerate itself, we will stop asking “Where do I get my protein, XYZ vitamin, trace minerals, etc.?” An alkalinized, cleansed body never has to worry about the minutiae of nutrients.
PREMISE #9: The great silent addiction is to mainstream foods that are unfit for human consumption. You know you’re an addict when you function better with your poison than without it. Coffee addicts function best when they drink coffee; coke addicts function best when they snort; the average American functions best on a heavy diet of poisonous food. Don’t mistake fake energy for Life Force Energy.
PREMISE #10: Detoxification is a visible physical process, not an ethereal concept. It only occurs when you see the waste matter leave the body. Any “cleansing” product only provides the potential to cleanse. Cleansing does not occur until copious amounts of matter leave the body. Some of these products contain irritants, as found in laxatives (senna, cascara segrada, etc.), which only shake loose some matter and make you think you have cleansed but push matter deeper into the tissues. Others are “awakeners,” which is quite different. The awakeners simply draw up the waste by resting the body from digestion (as in the case of fasting and cleansing diets) or absorb waste (as in the case of psyllium, which absorbs ten times its weight in waste, and bentonite, which is earth/clay that absorbs acid waste). To experience true detoxification, we must awake and release! Bowel cleansing is not only advisable, but imperative.
PREMISE #11: Clinging to a dietary label such as “raw” or “vegan” or “macro” with religious fervor is not healthy. The need to label is a need to define or feel superior—evidence that cleansing is not taking place. Tissue cleansing helps dissolve the ego. Be wary of events organized around so-called health-generating dogma (such as support groups for raw or vegan dieters) or gimmicky foods (such as events for chocolate-lovers). Support groups are for those who are grieving or suffering, not for those who are transitioning and cleansing their cells.
PREMISE #12: Colonic irrigation must be done correctly and in tandem with a cleansing transition diet for it to be of use. One of these elements without the other is largely ineffective. Colonic irrigation that uses pressure rather than natural gravity can push the waste back up the intestines, making matters worse.
PREMISE #13: A transition diet should match your body’s degree of poisoning, not your zeal to cleanse. Just as you learned to crawl before you learned to walk, you must climb up the health ladder at the speed and intensity appropriate for your body. Look for progress, not perfection.
PREMISE # 14: Not everyone is ready to live as we do. We must never be egotistical, dogmatic, judgmental, pushy or superior. Let us take care to respect all views as we move forward. Let us guide ourselves and those who are truly interested. This cleansing work is not for everyone. Not everyone cares or wants to change. It’s okay to be one of few. This is for the few who will, in time, become the many.
This Independence Day, when you look around at all the flags flying and burgers flipping (do I need to point out the irony?), remember what this holiday is really about. Remember what freedom is really about. And when you see all the bright-eyed American kids at you parties, consider that they are watching and learning from you. Will you teach them to follow the herd? Or will you reach for the next rung on the evolutionary spiral of human life and show them that there’s more to freedom than social status and material gain?

I have loved this song since I was a little girl and Lee Greenwood himself performed it at an L.A. Dodgers doubleheader game I went to with my dad. I have such mixed emotions when I hear it now. I want to feel proud to be an American yet, like many of you, I cannot possibly be proud of the brute forces of greed and power that have driven our nation into wars, recession, and widespread illness. Now is the time to reassess our values and reclaim our voice for truth, beauty, and humanity.
This song got me thinking about freedom—the freedom that was intended to be the foundation of this country versus the way we perceive freedom today. I come from a long line of proud Americans dating back to the Revolutionary War. I am a lifelong member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), a Magna Charta Dame, and (so I’m told) a 17th Century Colonial Dame. My American ancestry runs deep.
What I love most about the American spirit is the childlike enthusiasm that we Americans have—the sense that everything is possible, that there is every reason to reach for the stars. What disturbs me most about America is that this bright spirit has been dimmed by greed and power-lust—values that serve the opposite of freedom: fear, limitation, and death. Today we have only an illusion of freedom.
Here is what true freedom means to me:
1) True freedom is the ability to make choices for our highest good.
2) Such freedom can only come from knowing one’s highest potential.
3) In both mind and body, we must transcend our social programming and clear away waste in order to see our true potential and thus exercise free choice.
When we make choices based on habit or social norms, when we construct our lives based on what others have done before or what appears safe, we are acting in fear, not exercising free will. How many people rise above their social programming long enough to make choices for their highest good? How often have you wanted to make such choices for yourself but felt compelled to follow the conventional path of least resistance?
If your body is polluted and blocked up with decades of accumulated waste matter baked into your cells, how can you consider yourself free? When you cleanse your body of the toxins suffocating your cells, you are giving yourself full permission to tear up every blueprint and program that has been drilled into you by conventional authorities so you can finally see yourself with clarity.
When you are free of the puppet strings of a limited world, you become a pioneer of freedom. The cleaner the cells and your very DNA become, the more you can trust your choices and follow the path of life and humanity. I am a free American in a country with a lot of Americans who are not free. Hello Friends!
I have just returned from a whirlwind trip to Paris and London, followed by a surprise visit to San Francisco—all to celebrate my 10th-year wedding anniversary (and to watch the South African Spring Boks neuter the English in the World Cup Rugby—Go BOKS!). I hadn’t been to Europe for ages so it was a refreshing change of view.
Sticking to the detox program while traveling is one of the most common concerns frequent travelers have when they embark on this diet-lifestyle. This latest trip confirmed for me yet again that all it requires is a little bit of thoughtful organizing. I managed to move about fully energized and pleasured by my meals—from planes to restaurants, hotels, and night clubs. The small preparations I made enabled me to enjoy the entire trip without a single compromise.
All hail to my bag of tricks—well, two actually. My first bag of tricks was designed to provide everything I could possibly want post-flight over the course of the following days. This bag is to be checked on the plane with my luggage.
Bag of tricks #1 contained:
• 5 frozen 16-ounce Green Lemonades (I made the juices the night before leaving and froze them overnight. Just before leaving home, I placed them in cooler bags and then in a hard, small suitcase with the other items below); • 4 blocks of frozen goat cheese (Alta Dena—my favorite);
• my cheese slicer (what can I say, I’m a food snob);
• some yummy beets I’d baked the night before;
• a head of cabbage;
• 3 bags of baby carrots;
• my favorite Dijon mustard (Westbrae); and
• countless 70% chocolate bars (Rapunzel Dark is my latest favorite).
Note: I placed them in a separate bag just in case anything burst or spilled (cooked beets all over my wardrobe would have been most unwelcome upon arrival).
When I arrived in Paris everything was still fresh and cool. Upon settling in, I simply placed the items in the hotel mini-bar after taking all the mini-bar items out. Okay, you might say that I am a tad extreme and not everyone would bring their own “traveling kitchen” to Europe for a few days. I accept that I do fall to one extreme (as does my vitality), but this is just to give you some ideas.
While many of you are just beginning to undertake this diet-lifestyle, some of you have become very discerning about what you put into your body, getting your green juice and simply not wanting to be caught short without your yummy favorites. Traveling needn’t be nearly as constipating or exhausting as it used to be! Now, here’s what I packed to carry on the plane with me…
Bag of tricks #2 contained:
• several varieties of crudité (carrots, sliced beets, cabbage);
• a baggie full of baby romaine (a makeshift salad);
• goat cheese; and
• chocolate (of course)!
I enjoyed all of this with some lovely wine en route. Restaurants were delightfully easy. After my green juices, I was able to order beautiful veggie salads and cooked veggies. If I still ate fish, that would have been an easy option as well. The most delicious buffalo mozzarella on my salads and a little ice cream for dessert (two things that I do not eat regularly, but now and again when I desire them) made me wonder how anyone could feel deprived on this diet!
If your hotel has a sauna on the premises, take advantage of that ideal way of flushing the skin of waste residue from the trip. I also like to practice inversions after traveling (I prefer headstands) to remove the gas pressure from the flight. I find these two rituals to be key to eliminating the jet-lag and re-harmonizing the flow of chi (aka Life Force Energy). It was deeply satisfying to enjoy all that culture, beauty, and fun without compromising my energy levels and internal cleanliness. In the past, I can remember feeling so thick with meals and dehydration when I traveled. But during the last ten years and innumerable international adventures, it has been all pleasure and no pain!
Some Thoughts about Business Travel
It was during the second leg of my travels which took me to San Francisco that it dawned on me: the “challenging travel award” should go to the average business traveler. Luxurious destinations aside, the American business traveler has to endure a distinctly Life Force Energy-leaching environment. Unsuspecting travelers who are not sensitive to their environment, the air they breathe, and the food they eat might not even notice how damaging life in transit can be. But to one who has antennae up for these things, the inharmonious elements of common business travel flash like a neon sign.
Every day, business travelers around the country compound their already low Life Force Energy habits with the poorest energetic environments. Getting a glimpse of their surroundings over the course of several days made me realize just how disruptive such trips are to a person.
Imagine, if you will, the scene: hotel windows that don’t open; stuffy, sealed-off conference rooms; convention halls where travelers spend 8 to 10 hours at a time; constant offerings of coffee, stale sandwiches and cheap cookies; noise pollution from announcements, televisions, computers and cell phones; and of course all the stagnation of the flights themselves. Every room we entered had the news channels blaring; even the cab drivers had the local news programs chirping unimportant information. The business hotel rooms themselves are heartless and cold—one simply cannot move through them, much less sleep in them, without some kind of ill effect.
I am newly sympathetic to those of you who must travel frequently and place yourselves in these environments. Please, do what you can to protect yourselves by drinking your veggie juices, eating pure foods, and seizing any opportunity for fresh air between flights and conferences.
An excellent diet is important, but maintaining free-flowing Life Force Energy is key, and for that we need healthy, fresh spaces. Find hotels with windows that open; do a guided meditation in your room between meetings to re-center yourself; make the effort to take your frozen green juice with you, and treat the food and beverage offerings at these places like the plague; ask the hotel to prepare for you a healthy salad to go. You can survive your trips no worse for wear if you know what to watch for and how to protect yourself!

Before we left for Europe, my husband and I and a few of my clients and friends attended the long-awaited weekend seminar with Lee Harris and Story Waters. I think they would all agree with me when I say that the growth we all underwent was nothing short of transformational. Dear Friends,
As you have likely learned by now, pain is the body’s way of telling us when we are out of alignment with the truth of our being. The symptoms of sickness and disease are like messengers announcing that change must come. We ignore them at our own peril!
Likewise, nonphysical pain is a call to change that which is out of alignment in our life—be it our perspective, communications, relationships, or all of the above. The same applies to pain on a larger scale, whether in a family, country, or global community. Here, too, it is a call for change that must also be heeded lest the pain become worse.
Somehow, in our mainstream culture, we have developed into individuals and groups who are completely out of alignment with truth. How have we forgotten our truth? Well, generation after generation, our ancestors elected to follow a trajectory that at first seemed harmless but has led us into an age so far off the path of truth that we have become grossly unwell—mentally, physically, and communally. Moreover, we have forgotten the great inherent powers that we humans possess. Instead, we have become a community of highly controllable (and controlled) beings.
Here are a few of the ways we allow ourselves to be controlled:
• We consume what we are told to consume;
• We look down our noses at those of other races, cultures, and social standing;
• We listen to the media and take advice from pharmaceutical companies that pay doctors triple their salaries and buy them expensive gifts to endorse their products;
• We allow our babies to be injected with poisons that damage their brains and poison their blood and act as the harbingers of cancer and autism; and
• We break our backs working for money that we wind up spending on all the things we are told we need—all for a lifestyle we cannot support without incurring tremendous monetary, physical, and spiritual debt.
Folks, we have bought a bill of goods that has caused the mass degeneration of our physical and mental faculties and created a society of powerlessness and fear—which has made us exponentially more controllable!
Dear reader, I’m not saying any of this to scare you, but I do wish to wake you up! Underneath all that heavy programming, you are a powerful, beautiful, brilliant creation. There is only one way back to the path of truth, and that is to recognize your innate perfection. So stop trying to keep up with the Joneses! Stop buying into the deception, and start kicking your addictions. Take responsibility today. You can start with your body or your mind, or both, but please start somewhere. The future of the human race depends on it!
You can transition smoothly and quickly away from the controlling foods, the media, the social programming and stop being a marionette for the agenda of people who don’t care about you. If we don’t awaken to everything that is not right in our world and in our bodies, things are going to get much worse. So I am calling out to all of you who are “sleeping” now to WAKE UP! It is time take up the sword of truth and slay the dragon of deception!
You all know that this is not my usual tone. I am understanding and compassionate by nature, and my inclination is always to be gentle but clear. But today I feel it is necessary to practice a little tough love. There is a time to sit back and lick your wounds, but now is the time for change. There is mass depression, mass intake of pharmaceutical drugs, mass consumption of media, mass dissatisfaction at work, at home, with life. This is because we have agreed to live in a world driven by money and power and false values. Break free of this demented mentality by undertaking the following steps:
1. Transition your diet to clean your bloodstream of the addictive elements. This will also enable you to clear your mind.
2. Take a moment to ponder the motives of big business, banking, government, the healthcare industry, pharmaceutical companies, and their incestuous relations—and how they control your life. Are you supposed to live this way, eat junk, and get sick so you can wide up dependent on them? This is a lie, my friends. We are not supposed to get sick, age prematurely, become forgetful or senile, or develop osteoporosis or arthritis, and so on. These are all symptoms of living out of alignment with truth.
3. Rebuild your perspective based on what you know in your soul to be true, instead of what you are programmed to believe is true. Advance like a warrior, protecting your boundaries from deceptions and ill motives, but with an open mind so you can expand you perception of truth on a daily basis. Your truth will grow with you. It is as limitless as you are.
As you unravel the programming, you will awaken to your full self-sovereignty, and you will see just how magnificent life can really be. There is more than enough room for everyone in this exquisite realm of truth, if only we can start trusting and loving one another. We have been taught to build walls between each other, to put garbage in our bodies, to expose our precious children to all kinds of toxins. We have been raised to live in fear, to expect disease, and to trust authority. But how far will obedience get us?
I see a much brighter way. I live in a body that has been cleansed, and in a heart that rejoices in its fullness and light. I see my fellow man toiling in darkness and wish to extend my hand. Those of you who can see through the illusion, I ask you to start caring about your body and mind. Break through the controls and align yourself with truth. It will be well worth the effort, I promise.

As those of you who read Raw Food Life Force Energy will recall, I emphasized that the human body is not made of some dense matter, as it may seem, but of living light-energy. Remember the tenets of quantum physics as originated by Albert Einstein in the equation: E = mc2. Let this knowledge inform the way you carry yourself. I call this “holding your flame.” Yes, your body, that sometimes hard-to-rouse-out-of-bed lump of flesh is actually living light. At its very essence, light is fire! Therefore, you, my friend, are a living flame!
The spinal cord, which is the core of the body (like the core of an apple) is the fire-rod-axis which conducts your life force. Running through your spine is your spinal fluid, whose essence is pure energy. If this energy were visible, you would see it move as a fluid light current following the donut-like pattern of a torus. Picture the light-energy flowing into you from the head (the crown chakra; or the positive, male pole) while simultaneously flowing from below in the root chakra (the negative, female pole). In this way, the current runs up and down the length of the spine until it reaches the opposite pole, then moves outward and around you to re-circulate fresh energy.
Everything in the fruit and vegetable kingdoms follows the torus pattern of energetic flow. It is the flow of all living things—from the smallest atom to a massive tree. You can even see this lifeline flowing within a carrot, an apple, or a Brussels sprout! The energy enters from both directions and flow into, through and around the plant, giving it its life force and fanning its indwelling firelight. Likewise, from the macrocosmic perspective, our earth, the other planets, and even the solar system follow the torus pattern, sending indwelling life through their cosmic pranic tube.
Like the earth, when your inner pole/axis is rightly aligned and moving energy in swift waves, harnessing both the negative and positive poles equally, your being will thrive. This is why physical and energetic blockages (through unfit foods and unhealthy relationships, environments, and experiences) are so damaging. Disturbances in the energetic flow manifest in our physical body in the form of illnesses. Becoming aware of this is the first and best step you can take to revive your inner flame.
Tune into and align yourself with your flame.
Now, I ask you to sense your body as a living flame whose greatest intensity runs right through the vertical axis of your body. Next, I would like you to feel this flame’s power in the chakra centers of your body. Feel the power take hold at the base of your spine in your root, then feel the creative energy in the area halfway between your root and your navel. Then feel the Life Force Energy awaken in that flame at the spot right behind your navel. Next, feel your heart center surge with the power of this fire; allow the fire to rise into the throat opening and enlivening that area so you can express yourself more authentically. Feel the heat in your forehead as the flame rises in your brain, between your eyes, and then finally allow it to surge through your crown, up into the higher realms where it will connect with the more spiritual dimensions of your energy field. Notice how your posture naturally lifts, opens, and surrenders to the graceful flow of this energy.
Instead of merely straightening your posture, note the effortless rise of your body once it embodies the flow of this flame. Notice that it does not cause you to stiffen. Notice how it lifts your mid-spine and opens your shoulders like wings. Notice how it lifts and draws back your head back ever so slightly, like that of a swan or a giraffe. Hold your flame, feel it rise and emit its powerful energy all around you. Open up to its fullness. This is your natural alignment and your indwelling power.
Remember this as often as you can as you walk to work, shop for groceries, type emails. Notice how much clearer and how much more heart-centered your communications and emotions are when you hold and embody your flame.
The way to fully activate your Life Force Energy is to fully activate the pranic tube (“sahsumna” in Sanskrit). It is said that through this power you can overcome aging and even death. Such an empowering concept, yet so few people are aware of it.

Our body is a living community of cells. Each cell within our body contains all the systems and characteristics of the whole: a digestive system, respiratory system, nervous system, lymphatic system, circulatory system, and so forth. We can conceive of our cells as a microcosmic reflection of ourselves. We can look at a single cell and better understand ourselves, just as we have better understood our world by looking deeply into its subatomic structures. The most microcosmic structures hold the imprint of the macrocosm.
How we treat one cell is how we treat every cell. If we feed our bodies unnatural, toxic substances, it will affect our moods, our work, and our daily existence in general. Likewise, in the reverse, if we invite stress and violence in our lives, it will affect our perception, our sleep, our digestion, and our physical state.
When we dismiss people, judge them harshly or act in hurtful ways, we suffer in our inner life, develop cancers or fail to achieve our dreams. Every little thing we do affects our whole being. When we eat poorly, it will manifest in our inner and outer lives. When we ingest fresh vegetable juice, reflect on nature, speak kindly and cherish the divinity in ourselves and our fellow man, every aspect of our lives will reflect that. I call this “the ripple effect.”
Thus, your body, which is a community of cells, naturally reflects the state of those cells. If there is harmony or disruption in the smaller community, there will be harmony or disruption throughout the whole. Like a rock tossed onto a body of water, everything that enters their body ripples through it, affecting every system, organ, and ultimately every cell. We are, after all, made mostly of water, and as bodies of water we conduct everything that enters our system.
Everything runs along the rippling stream of light energy. Our lives operate within it and it operates with in us. May you contemplate how every choice you make ripples throughout your whole body and your whole life. May you ripple with joy!
