If I Were a Bell, I’d Be Ringing!

That’s how I feel about holding little Electra in my arms finally. She made us wait for her–according to our dates, she arrived at 43 weeks, longer by other estimates! She was born at home in our bedroom in water, just as I had hoped she would be. As she is my third and last child, I’m so grateful to have had the experience of a home birth with her.

I must have been pretty loud because our neighbors below and above us called down to the doorman asking if they should call the police (they thought I was being murdered). The doorman let them know that I was just giving birth. They replied, “Gosh, she must be in a lot of pain.” I was. It was a 20-hour labor and far more grueling than I expected, given the fact that I am fit and strong and was at home in my sacred space. But never mind the pain – it was a textbook home birth that otherwise went along utterly safely and smoothly. My 5-star birthing team included my amazing husband, who was hard a work putting pressure on my lower back to counter the searing pain for hours at a time without a break; my doula, Kassie Anderson*, who coached and guided me all the way though (even when I didn’t think I could go on), and my brilliant midwife, Miriam Schwartschild.**

Weighing in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces (nearly 8 pounds), Electra was my biggest baby. Thanks to the water birth and great midwifery support, miraculously, her 26-cm head circumference and broad shoulders didn’t tear me a bit. With my smaller babies (Thandi and Tommy were both just 6.5 pounds) I required several stitches each. I delivered my other two “on land.”

Despite the intensity and duration of the labor, the baby’s heart rate remained steady the entire time and she emerged without incident (no cord issues or other fetal concerns that can be concerning at a home birth). I appreciate all the risks involved with a home birth (of course, to my mind, they are outweighed by the risks of a hospital birth–though not everyone would agree with me here), but it was a great feeling to see nature take her course in this way and deliver so smoothly. I will never forget the feeling of “catching” my own baby. My husband and I, both in the water together, reached down and brought her into the world together–the two sets of hands that conceived her received her.

We have spent the following days blissfully connected with the baby, as if we’ve been wrapped up in divine energy. It’s a love high unlike any other. I can’t help but think that if everyone could experience how hard it is to birth a new life into the world and how exquisite it feels to exchange this love energy with one’s baby, no one would ever dream of taking a life. Reverence for life would be the core purpose of our lives, and would thus usher in the fabled Golden Age of mankind, rectifying every suffering!

My Pregnancy Regimen

I promised to write about my pregnancy regimen, so I’ll share it briefly with you now. It was pretty simple, really–mostly what I do when I’m not pregnant with some additional things.

As always, I started my days with a good dose of exercise. That’s my first fuel–chi! Then, after lots of pure spring water, around noon I would drink about 32 ounces of green juice. I’d feast on fresh fruits throughout the afternoon as desired, either whole or blended into a smoothie, or both. The fresh fruits were the best part: a couple of cantaloupes followed by honeycrisp apples and bananas or loads of pineapple and pineapple-banana-berry smoothies with bee pollen and fresh orange juice. During the daytime, my intake was all water-containing sweet fruits.

In the evening, I would shift to vegetables, starting off with an antipasto of raw sweet potato slices, my favorite Castlevetrano and Ceringnola olives, and baked beets. I would follow that with anything from my favorite goat cheese salads (the hard raw goat cheeses are fine during pregnancy, but not the soft ones), baked sweet potatoes, or some of the fish I’d made for my husband. Unlike in my non-pregnant regimen, I did include some grains during pregnancy if I wanted them in the evening, in the form of Alvarado Street Bakery sprouted-grain bread (with organic butter and honey), Ak-Mak crackers (my pregnancy favorite), and the Kashi chocolate-chip cookies. I enjoyed Laloo’s goat’s milk ice cream in chocolate, vanilla, and cappuccino pretty much every night–but oddly, I lost the taste for chocolate during the pregnancy. That was a surprise!

My Colon Cleansing Routine During Pregnancy

From the day I found out I was pregnant to the day I delivered, my colon cleansing routine was as shameless as it is when I am not pregnant. But please be advised that colon cleansing in the form of colonics or enemas is ordinarily contraindicated during pregnancy. It is advised only for the few pregnant women who utilize colonics regularly for an extended time prior to becoming pregnant. Even then, colon cleansing must be done with expert care. I had had plenty of experience with colonics during my previous pregnancy, so I felt very secure continuing my routine. I did inform all my caregivers (midwives, back-up doctor, and doula) about my cleansing rituals and dietetic protocol. To my surprise, they were all perfectly comfortable with me doing everything I was doing. My back-up doctor even had a half-empty Organic Avenue green juice on his desk. The times, they are a changin’!

Avoiding Induction with a Post-term Baby

One of the biggest challenges was being post-term. While normal-term pregnancy is 38-42 weeks, in America most doctors want to induce the mother after 40 weeks and insist upon it by 41 weeks. Even if I had planned on giving birth in the birthing center as I had done with my son, they would have insisted I switch to the labor and delivery ward by 41 weeks, and even then I would still have been required to induce. I would have had no chance of a natural birth under those conditions!

By contrast, my midwife was totally relaxed about my term. She delivers many babies at 42 and 43 weeks and they are perfectly normal. Usually, the sonogram dates, conception dates, or ovulation dates are off and the “post-term” baby is actually right on time. I did my research and learned a great deal about this issue. In the end, I took every precaution and had the baby monitored once every 3 to 4 days to ensure my fluid levels were high (this is the best indicator of whether a baby is doing fine after 42 weeks, and my fluids were great) and I paid close attention to baby’s movement (she was my most active baby by far; she was doin’ the bunny hop pretty much all the time!). The doctors who evaluated these check-ups would tell me the baby looked perfectly well inside (one told me I’d made too good a home for her) but in the same breath would add if I were their patient, they would induce me that night. I made it through a few of these evaluations, and then the baby finally decided it was her moment.

On the festive Jewish holiday of Purim and during an enormous full moon, Electra made her way at 2:04 a.m. on March 8th. Did she show signs of being post-term? Not at all. She was coated in vernix, which would not have been the case if she’d been post-term. Post-term babies are also very wrinkly, which she was not at all. At just shy of 8 pounds, she wasn’t small, but neither was she a gigantic or overripe. Nor had she passed meconium–another hallmark of a post-mature baby. In the end, I know we all just want a healthy baby, but it may be that far too many mothers are being induced, resulting in babies who are not getting all the time they need in utero and taking away their right to their natural moment of birth. Even though I was getting impatient and my husband was getting concerned, I’m glad I had a patient, knowing midwife who kept reminding me my baby would come when she was ready.

My Nursing Diet

As I’ve transitioned to post partum and nursing, my diet is basically a grain-free version of my pregnancy diet. I’m not able to exercise yet, but I have been able to use the sauna again, so I’m starting my day with a great deep infrared sweat and shower to get the chi flowing. Then 32 to 48 ounces of green juice followed by juicy fruits (mostly navel oranges, Anjou pears, and Fuji apples right now, but I’ll be going for spring nectarines and peaches pretty soon!). My favorite nursing dinner is a real milk factory–it’s so simple and delicious, anyone can enjoy it: 10 ounces of baby (or regular organic) spinach, wilted in a bit of water and topped with 3 to 4 ounces of goat feta. It’s surprisingly delicious and so clean. You can add a few tablespoons of your favorite marinara sauce if you like. That’s it.

Please let me know if you have any questions I haven’t answered. I have lots more to share with you on other subjects–epiphanies and leaps of consciousness that I know you’ll find inspiring and helpful as you continue to experience your own leaps–but I wanted to send this out first.

Thank you all once again for your generous love and support. Here’s to ushering in the Golden Age together!

Love,
Natalia

ADDENDUM:

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to add a little addendum to the pregnancy/birth blog per your questions…herewith:

1. My Pre-natal Exercise Routine

I relished my exercise time from the first day to the last day of my pregnancy. It gave me a wonderful sense of strength and energy. While I was careful not to over exert myself, somedays I had to hold myself back because the chi flow was so strong and with my tunes on my playlist I could easily rock out the way I would if I wasn’t pregnant. I would drop my kids off at school and head to the gym where I’d jump on the elliptical trainer for 40 minutes.

I rode my bike all summer at the beach but once I got to a certain point (around 5 months pregnant), I realized my balance probably wasn’t ideal; add to that the dangers of biking in Manhattan and I realized, sadly, it was time to put my bike into storage until the spring. Since I couldn’t rebound either (the verdict is out as to whether rebounding is okay while pregnant but it didn’t feel intuitively right to me) and since running also felt intuitively wrong to me (thought I know some runners swear by it during pregnancy), I was left me with non-impact cardio which I would only find at the gym. I hadn’t been to a gym in over 12 years so it was awkward at first to return to that environment — all the people, noise, television screens flashing…I got into the groove and made it fun! I’m happy to report that I’m back on my rebounder now and I’ll soon hop back on my beloved bicycle!

While pre-natal yoga and pilates are popular, they didn’t appeal to me this time around. Like running and other impact sports, pilates and any exercises that focused on working the core also felt intuitively wrong to me during pregnancy.

2. What became of the placenta?

My Doula, Kassie Anderson, skillfully washed and prepared my placenta immediately following the birth. She brought me placenta and fruit smoothie in bed within a half hour of giving birth and I can affirm first hand that it transformed me — I was over exerted and pale and, while blissed out from love hormones and holding my baby, I was physically beat from the 20 hour labor. A few big mouthfuls of placenta later (Mmmm — surprisingly it tasted fine, watery and kind of fruity actually but I know you probably won’t beleive me) and bingo, my color and energy were restored!

Kassie placed a portion in the fridge for me to benefit from over the next three days (which I did) and the rest was placed in the freezer. The remainder will be turned into capsules and a tincture by my placenta expert, Lisa Fortin (contact info below) which I can take as needed. Apparently, the tincture is also great for the baby should she be fussy or unwell.

3. Regarding Vaccines

The decision over whether or not to vaccinate your children is a big one, and often brings with it conflicting beliefs among family members. I recommend listening to the interview with Holistic Pediatrician, Dr. Palevsky. You can find the full audio on Life Force Families, here.

Another great resource is the recent film, “The Greater Good.”

4. The Best of the Best of Homebirth Practitioners:

If you are considering homebirth and you live in or around New York City, I HIGHLY recommend my Doula, Midwife and placenta expert. Here are their contact details:

Doula – Kassie Anderson – 917-312-3110

Midwife – Miriam Schwartzchild – 917-589-9725

Placenta Contact – Lisa Fortin – 646-260-5595, www.placentahealingartsnyc.com

We are planning on creating a directory for doulas and midwives and other critical home birth resources. Please stay tuned on Lifeforcefamilies.com.

Once again, thank you all so much for your encouragement, kind words and loving energy. I wish you all every happiness!

Love,
Natalia

A Primal Call

We’ve had such a fulfilling few months here at Natalia Rose Institute, from our 3-Day Guided Juice Fast and now the 30-Day Guided Rose Cleanse. The participants are now in deep stages of cleansing and mind/body renewal. They are crossing the bridge to a new level of consciousness and freedom from their physical limitations. The numbers of individuals we’re working with are growing exponentially, which means waves of people are releasing old waste and obstruction–physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually–and emerging with far greater clarity. Such transformation is possible for all who undergo deep-tissue cleansing and work to dissolve their social conditioning.

The NRI team and I are at an interesting juncture right now. At a time when this work is growing rapidly in widespread appreciation, there is a call for me to return to the hearth–a call I cannot deny because it comes from a new baby who will be born in a few weeks and will need a mother in the most primal way.

Rule #1: Never oppose nature; always flow with life. So, if I am to live in harmony with life, I will take 3 to 6 months after the baby’s birth to focus almost exclusively on this quintessentially formative time with the new soul. I’ve written and spoken about the sacredness of the first 100 days, nursing on demand, attachment parenting, and co-sleeping, all of which I believe to be essential to the physical and spiritual health of a new baby. So I will be stepping back for a while and depending more on my wonderful team: Joanna Novick (our customer service contact), and our expert webmasters, Tim and George Roberts, to manage the day-to-day operations of Natalia Rose Institute.

I will not be returning e-mails or taking clients at this time, so if there is anything you need, please reach out to the NRI team and they will respond as promptly as possible:

Joanna Novick (customer service): Joanna@detoxtheworld.com
Tim and George Roberts (webmasters): Web@crucialnetworking.com

Please rest assured that everything you need is and will remain available to you. The books, blogs, audio recordings, and community discussions contain all the information you could possibly be looking for. We are also planning to package the 3-Day Guided Fast and 30-Day Guided Cleanse materials for those who either missed them or wish to visit them again at their leisure.

Chef Doris and I have a comprehensive, full-color cookbook going into production with a first-rate publishing house. The cookbook will be available October 2012.

As some of you know, Doris is also pregnant and expecting at the end of March. So if you wish to attend the Culinary Institute www.detoxtheworld.com/events.php#220123 or enjoy her meal deliveries, now is the time to seize those opportunities!

We will be gathering in June for the Advanced Training which is also available for remote students to tune into live online. You can learn more about that here: www.detoxtheworld.com/events.php

You will be in excellent hands with our team. I trust you will all persevere in your transformative work. Remember, you have the power to break through any perceived limitation if you can just identify the nature of the obstruction and take the cleansing steps to remove it!

With Great Love,
Natalia

Birthing Sophia: An Audio with Macha and Amanda

Macha and I were so moved by Amanda’s birthing story that we had to call Amanda in to share it with you too! As you may know, Amanda Dennis, leader of our Life Force Families site and my business partner, moved to Hawaii’s Big Island last spring with her husband, Jason, and 3-year-old daughter, Madeline. If you’ve been tuning into Life Force Families, you will have read her blogs about the move and followed her pregnancy this year which, culminated on September 2nd with the birth of her second daughter, Sophia.

Amanda’s birth experience was beautiful and deeply moving. Having a natural birth in this environment was particularly special for her in light of her first birth experience in a traditional hospital. You’ll find the recording below, but I encourage you to visit www.detoxtheworld.com/lifeforcefamilies/parents-blog.php to see her photo gallery as well. The pictures will move you.

Here’s the audio:

Back to the Basics of Life

Ever been cruising steadily along in one direction when suddenly life whips you onto another route entirely? There I was, plugging away with all my plans and projects when suddenly I discover I’m pregnant again. Whoa, not what I had in mind, with my kids now 8 and 10 and all that baby stuff far behind me (so I thought)!

Pregnancy is one event that calls for absolute surrender and flexibility – not always my strong points, I’ll admit. It also calls for a return to the basics of life. As conscious humans we can direct our own lives to a significant degree, but we are still a part of a larger whole whose consciousness, I believe, is also self-directed. Sometimes, we have to flow with the larger direction, surrendering like a fish that gets lifted out of its comfort zone by a wave.

I believe we are part of a greater whole, as we move with it and it moves within us. Almine says it beautifully: “Each one of us is a consciousness superimposed upon all that is.… In us God moves and has his being and in God, we move and have our being.” Learning of my pregnancy was a not-so-subtle reminder that as much as God and Nature have supported and served me, I am also in service to that greater consciousness. That greater consciousness had plans that I was being asked to participate in – in this case, to birth a new soul into the world.

My reaction, once I recovered from the shock, was to resist, because my ego didn’t want to go through the hassle and take on the responsibility. I already have two fantastic children. Getting them to this stage has been demanding enough. I know what raising a child entails and the sacrifices required (without rest or breaks). And besides, I couldn’t help thinking, the world has enough of an overpopulation problem without me adding to it. I know you’re probably thinking I should know how babies are conceived and should have taken the necessary precautions. I can assure you, we did! The same precautions we have taken for 16 years, which only resulted in two planned pregnancies. Even more reason to believe this was beyond my will and must be part of a greater plan.

After a few rants and raves, which my husband patiently endured, I contemplated the reverence I’ve learned to have for Nature and the interconnectedness of life. I started to let go of my fears and think about how amazing this event really was – that we would have a new member of our family, that this beautiful soul wanted me to be his/her mother and my husband to be his/her father. I thought of the ancient tree that survives the storms because it is strong enough to bend. Was I strong enough to bend?

Over the last 3 months I’ve learned that I’m more flexible than I thought. Instead of practicing inversions, I’ve been practicing surrender. Instead of sweating in the sauna, I’ve sweated out fears and limbered up my brittle mental and emotional tendons. I’ve opened up a “womb at the inn” and invited this life force to take up residence for the next nine months. I’ve laughed more. I’ve played more. I’ve rested more and made a fine art out of doing as little as possible (in between project deadlines and planning a demanding move from a city apartment into a house).

It’s good to move out of your comfort zone and learn how adaptable you can be. I feel much more at one with the unity of life that I contemplate so much. It feels good to bend, to go in a direction I didn’t intend, to embrace the unknown, to allow something mysterious to grow within me.

They say every baby brings a gift. So far, this one is bringing me more gifts than I can keep track of, and I wanted to share the joyful news with you.

Love,
Natalia

P.S. I believe this event puts to rest the rumor that stevia has natural contraceptive properties 😉

Town Meeting Roundup

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to take a moment to fill you all in on what’s going on here at Natalia Rose Institute and what you can look forward to in the coming months.

1. Emotional Eating S.O.S.! is now complete and available for free on the membership DetoxCommunity and for purchase on the site. This project is very close to my heart and definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write because I had to retrace my steps and recapitulate my life–all that wired me for emotional eating and all that liberated me from it. But I persevered and went into that dark space for hours at a time until it was done because I think this is one of the biggest challenges people face today. The material can be applied to any self-destructive behavior, not just disordered eating.

2. Our Detox Walks have been so much fun this year! In the last two weeks, the groups have grown quite a lot and it’s been wonderful to meet more new people. Our lively, large group snakes through the park like a beautiful cobra, drinking in all the great collective energy and soaking in the vibes from this very special nature reserve in the middle of Manhattan. This coming Thursday, June 24, will be the last walk I’ll be able to attend for a while, but the walks will continue without me. We have a torch-bearer, Lisa, who has been with us every week and who will lead the group until I come back after Labor Day. So please keep going strong. Many people have told us that the walk is the highlight of their week!

3. The larger Natalia Rose Institute International Community is still incubating, but we hope to launch this summer. So please stay tuned. Soon there may be a group near you!

4. The Parents Community is also in production, as is a newsletter, which we’re working on to offer you even more guidance and support. You’ll soon see a “call out” area on the homepage to sign up if you’d like to receive it. You’ll find recipes, tips, discounts on local colonics and juices bars, and much more!

5. The Rose Program Culinary Institute is booking up its maiden course in October very quickly. Anyone who has tasted Doris’s food, attended one of Doris’s cooking deomos, or tried her recipes in the DetoxCommunity knows why. She is a genius–ever at the cutting edge of our culinary future!

6. I send out a Good Luck wish to all my former and current students who are taking the Rose Program Certification test. It is not an easy test–if you pass, you really know your stuff. We are receiving many completed tests, so please be patient while we grade them with detailed care and feedback. Please give us 2 to 3 weeks to get back to you.

Ana will remain hard at work all summer, and she still has a few openings available for personal consultations (in person or via phone). I am taking July and August off to spend time with my family. So, more than ever, please remember that between the blogs on this site and the extensive guidance offered in the private DetoxCommunity, you will find everything you need.

We receive more correspondence than we could possibly keep up with, so please understand if we cannot reply to all of your questions. This is what the DetoxCommunity is for. There are many advanced students here who can answer your quetions. We are not expanding to meet the increased demand with more employees. We have no corporate ambitions. We believe there is a way to serve you while remaining tranquil and connected, in the moment, instead of falling victim to the technocratic pace of modern life that depletes inner power.

I’ll write a few blogs and post a few more audios with Macha over the summer to stay connected with you all. I look forward to seeing many of you at the September Advanced Training Class and the Rose Program Culinary Institute in the fall. Remember to visit our Events page!

Wishing you a wonderful summer (and to our friends down under, a beautiful fall).

Love,
Natalia

Magical Morning!

IMG00021-20100429-0956

We had a magical morning yesterday on our Detox Walk. We met at the fountain and ventured up through the brambles until we reached the Shakespearean Castle and enjoyed the view before continuing up to the reservoir and ultimately reaching the botanical conservatory all abloom with tulips, lilacs, apple blossoms, and roses just peaking out. There were so many species of flowers that I confess I couldn’t name. But suffice it to say that the place was as fragrant as it was beautiful. It was hard to leave the gardens, sundrenched in all their glory, but little buds and seedlings promised more to enjoy next week as the symphony of flowers continues all through the spring and summer. We had a wonderful group this week (photo above).

Emotional Eating S.O.S., Part III, is up on the community site as of this afternoon. I hope it serves you well. The final section, Part IV: Practical Applications, will be ready in a few weeks.

Wishing you all the joys of springtime!

Detox Walks This Thursday!

Hi Everyone!

The Natalia Rose Institute team is extremely busy with projects (which is why I haven’t posted for a while) but we are all looking forward to our walk on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. sharp and we hope you’ll come along! This is a great opportunity to meet some of the wonderful people in this community–and get some of your questions answered!

You’ll find all the details on the Events page.

Coming this week:

The Rose Cleanse, an e-book (free to community members, $5 for non-members) designed to bring an end to the confusion around cleansing and the different methods of cleansing.

Part III of Emotional Eating S.O.S.! (presently available exclusively to DetoxCommunity members)

Hope to walk with you on Thursday!

Natalia

In the Pipeline

In the Pipeline:

We at Natalia Rose Institute have some new projects in the pipeline that we wanted to take a moment to draw your attention to:

1. Natalia Rose Institute for Parents:
Wife, mother, executive & impassioned student of this work, Amanda Dennis and I are hard at work developing a community devoted entirely to adapting The Rose Program philosophy to family life – from pre-conception and fertility all the way through preganancy, childbirth, nursing, childhood, and adolescence. Our vision is to offer a fully comprehensive library of content spanning the parenting gamut.

While nutrition will be a major focal point, this vast offering aims to address the bigger-picture challenges and solutions for adapting this paradigm to the full spectrum of modern life.

We feel our parenting philosophy supports a life-generating domestic dynamic that has been lost to our culture. We feel the tools we offer can help you transfigure your family in the present and in the future.

As in the current detox community, there will be a powerful additional line of support in the parents community: the members themselves. In addition to carefully selected mentors, hand-picked by me, to offer support to those in need of personalized guidance, all members will be encouraged to share their personal journeys, challenges, tips, and recipes, and to enter into discussion with other members. In this way, all will have extensive opportunities to interact, turn to, lean on, lead, and support one another.

We are working at rapid-fire pace to develop the content and build the site. We will keep you posted on our progress and expected launch date (we’re shooting for Labor Day)!

In the meantime, we would like to invite all parents, kids, parents-to-be, and even hopeful parents-to-be to send us any testimonials, personal stories, questions, or topics that might apply during this content-development stage. Kindly send these to Amanda at Amanda.Dennis@walshwireless.com.

I am also working to further document our parenting and nutritional philosophy in a book format, scheduled to be released this coming fall.

2. The Detox Delivery Online Recipe Book:
Our beloved, ingenius Chef Doris Choi, Creator & Executive Chef of Detox Delivery, is compiling her extraordinary Detox recipes for you! This project goes way beyond recipes to include Doris’s expert tips from the market to the kitchen as well as photos of her mouthwatering recipes. Doris’s recipes are absolutely, utterly original and take all The Rose Program ideals into consideration – in short, they simultaneously delight your palate and your cells! You’ll want to stay tuned for this!

3. Part III of Emotional Eating S.O.S.!:
While this project is taking longer to complete than anticipated, it is also evolving into something far beyond what I’d even hoped. There has long been so much mystery around the multi-layered issues that drive some people to eat beyond their true need for nourishment. We are unshrouding that mystery in Emotional Eating S.O.S.! in ways that have seldom, if ever, been ventured. (Parts I and II are already available to community members).

I appreciate your patience, as I have so much to share with you and so little time to allocate each week to this project. Rest assured it is steadily moving forward and Part III should be available to community members in April. There will still be at least two more sections to follow after that. I hope it serves you well and dissolves the monster of emotional eating until it shadows you no more.

4. Advanced Detoxification Course at Organic Avenue!
Raw food boutique Organic Avenue in New York City and I are joining forces to offer a comprehensive study on detoxification & healing under my tutelage. The course will unfold over five consecutive Tuesday evenings (6pm-8pm) starting April 27th. For more information, please see the Events page or contact Organic Avenue directly at: Love@organicavenue.com or call: 212.334.4593.

CERTIFICATION FINALLY! This course will be the first to offer students an exam for certification in The Rose Program method. Due to the many requests for an official Rose Program certification, all current and past students of the advanced training classes will be eligible to take this exam to become certified. The exam will be available starting May 25th.

There is a $45 administraion fee for the exam. If it is not passed the first time, it may be taken one more time in a six-month period at no additional charge. If you are a former student who would like to take the test, kindly send your request to Ana Ladd-Griffin at AnaLaddg@hotmail.com.

5. Join Me for Detox Walks to Kick off The Natalia Rose Institute Cleanse!
Starting Thursday, March 25 and going all the way through the end of June, we are meeting for weekly walks through Central Park. We know how much community means to your progress, so join us! It’s FREE and OPEN to anyone. Our resident Senior Detox Counselor, Ana Ladd-Griffin will also be offering a group meeting for anyone who wants extra support following the walk (for a nominal fee of $10/meeting). Liquiteria is also providing Norwalk-pressed “Green Lemonade.” You can read more about it on the Events page. We already have an amazing group brewing!

6. The Rose Bar Chocolate
is going to launch early this summer. I am quite confident it will be the best-tasting dark chocolate (72%) you have ever experienced. Our chocolate is handmade in small batches by a master Belgian chocolatier in a secluded and exotic beach village in South Africa. Just wait and taste it for yourself!

As you can see, we are hard at work to give you all the tools and information you need for the best life-experience possible in the modern world. We love to provide this service because we want everyone to enjoy the wonderful life-experience we do!

All Love from me & the entire The Detoxtheworld.com Team,

Natalia Rose

Part Two of Emotional Eating S.O.S. Is Up!

Hi Everyone,

I’m writing this from the brimming-with-life-force Grand Teton National Park in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Ana and I are here with my kids and hubby celebrating his 50th birthday. We’ve been up early every day ripping up the slopes (actually, my husband, Lawrence, kids, and Ana rip it up while I attempt to keep up)! Mostly we’re just really enjoying being here in this powerfully life-generating environment! Last night we had the great privilege of dining on raw and steamed organic veggies, raw goat cheese, a great wine (fresh buffalo meat for the meat-eaters among us) in a tipi on the Snake River in the deep, pristine snow. It reminded me again of how well indigenous Americans once lived and how misguided our common misperceptions are of what their lives were like. The architecture of the tipi’s central woodburning ovens and the hot stones kept us toasty out in the middle of a snowy February night. I had a far greater desire to spend the week in the tipi than to return to the posh hotel, which all five of the children with us vocalized, emphatically! The children (aged 5 to 13) were having the most exciting, fun night of their lives. Video games, movies, and shopping were the last things on their minds, and could never have captivated them as this environment did.

Finally, an announcement: Part Two of Emotional Eating S.O.S. is now up in the exclusive content area of the DetoxCommunity. There are still several parts to come, which I am presently working on, each one addressing issues critical to overcoming emotional eating and all manner of behavioral imbalances. My goal is to decode the causes and solutions and put an empowering, practical toolbox in your hands. The first three parts lay the foundation that you will need in order to make that toolbox work for you. I appreciate your patience, and I hope this information helps to pull you up and out of these painful cycles.

Here’s to your wholeness!

Updates

Hi Everyone:

It’s been an extremely busy time and I want to apologize to those of you who are waiting for Part Two of Emotional Eating S.O.S. It will be available in the next few days. The project has become much bigger than I originally anticipated. It looks like it will now be a guidebook in four parts, instead of just two. Part Three should be available by the second week of March. The guidebook is currently only available to members of the DetoxCommunity, as a work in progress, but will be available for purchase on the main site once it is complete. I am also developing an audio meditation to accompany the book.

The dynamic of the living world is changing rapidly now as the affronts to the human body and to nature at large have reached a critically harmful stage. There is so much I wish to share with you about how to contend with these changes, what the signs are, and where it’s all destined to go, so that you can live with greater awareness and protect yourself. If this sounds dire, that’s because it is. There’s a great deal for us to discuss and understand. I cannot emphasize enough that the old health and diet methods are impotent in this new climate (and supplements, powders, and similar products are less relevant than ever).

If you are a newcomer to this work and are craving more detailed diet and weight loss tips, please refer to the many blog posts of the last few years that cover diet, and to the membership DetoxCommunity where we–either I, Ana, or the advanced community members themselves–can address all of your concerns.

At present, due to the shifting natural climate, there is too much new knowledge to restrict our discussion to diet alone. There are macro- and microcosmic devastations occurring in the living world. Both the Earth’s soil and the cells of our bodies are being further depleted of life force by the day. I want you to understand what’s going on, how best to care for yourself, and how to diminish the effects of these devastations on your well-being. Nothing is more important to me than to share this information with you, which I will continue to do in the Emotional Eating S.O.S.guidebook and in my future blogs.

I will also be presenting this information as part of the March workshop. We still have a few spots available. If you’ve ever thought about attending, perhaps this is the time for you. These intimate gatherings are the best way to deliver this information. You can read more about the workshop here: http://www.detoxtheworld.com/events.php

I am very thankful for all of your kind e-mails and comments, and regret that I cannot always respond to them, due to intense time demands. I am also continually warmed and gratified by the supportive, loving communications among the DetoxCommunity. This is a group of admirable character, strength, and passion. Thank you for your confidence. I hope to be of continued service.

Love,
Natalia

Take a Gander…

Hi Friends,

I’m preparing to depart for an extended vacation with my family to South Africa–no media, no computer, no hand-held devices! Just endless indulging in sea, sun, and play!

My next installment will be on the topic of “Fung-eggs and Corn-fish.” What is that, you ask? I invite anyone who wants to take a gander to send an e-mail to Ana at analaddg@hotmail.com with that in the subject line. I’ll announce the person who comes closest to getting it! (N.B. This doesn’t apply to people with whom I’ve already discussed it).

I’ll give you two hints. Hint #1: substances like fung-eggs and corn-fish are the latest in mainstream foods (but you’ll never hear them referred to that way). Hint #2: the concept of a species’ biomass is central to the explanation of what they are and how they came to be. That’s all you’re getting out of me now!

A special note to community members: Look out for a new release from me on Emotional Eating on 12/16/09. It’s Part One of a two-part e-book entitiled “Emotional Eating S.O.S.” I’ll have Part Two ready for you early in the new year.

Also, make sure to keep watching for new Q & A’s with Ana Ladd-Griffin and new recipes from Chef Doris Choi of Detox Delivery on the membership community. Check out Doris’s new sushi recipe that goes up tonight!

I send my most heartfelt love to you all. You are not alone in your desires, your struggles, your passion, or your vision. We are a family–seeding a beautiful future together to reap together!

As the locals in South Africa say during the holidays, “Happy Happy!” (pronounced “Appy Appy!”)

All Love & sunshine,
Natalia

Dearest Friends . . .

Dearest Friends,

I realize that I have not written a blog or recorded a new audio for the community for some weeks. In addition to all the traveling I have done this summer and having my children out of school for the break which just came to a close, I have been processing some very intense experiences. I beg your pardon for the lag but it has been a time of great revelation and I’ve needed to minimize my expenditure so I could fully receive this new information. Many of you have been extremely patient with me as I have not been able to get back to you with your various requests and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your gentle understanding!

There is a time to inhale and a time to exhale; there is a time to receive and a time to radiate; there is a time to be the student and a time to be the teacher. These last few months have been my time to be the student — to receive and learn on a new scale. This process will only translate into me being a more effective conduit for you.

To your credit, not a single one of you has complained about the absence of material and for that I am extremely appreciative. You have been patient and turned to each other instead (the community has been bursting with brilliant correspondence, support, recipes and inspiration)! The selfless, loving support that is flowing among you touches my heart. I could not be more pleased and more humbled by how brightly your lights shine and how freely you share that illumination lifting one another up!

What you have learned (and I have enjoyed witnessing) is that there are enough of you on the community with sound understanding and leadership ability that you can lean on one another for your answers until such a time as each of you has mastered this work enough to find all of the answers among your own personal storehouse of knowledge and experience. I’ve also encouraged my precious associate Ana Ladd-Griffin, who is overworked as it is to try to respond to the community posts when she can steal a few moments away. She will have more and more of a presence on the community over the next few months as I segue her away from some of the day-to-day opperations so that she can do more teaching which is where her talents and knowledge are most needed!

My goal has never been to create followers but rather to give you the tools to your own mastery of this subject and it’s periphery subjects (Natural Law, the interconnectedness of all life, becoming literate in the Book of Life by becoming adept at discerning in the world around you what is life-generating versus what is life-deteriorating, etc.). To my immense delight I am observing your conversations on the community and seeing just that — you are mastering it and those of you who are getting it more quickly are lifting your sisters and brothers up! This is marvelous — well done!

I have several new articles, blogs and audios (and a new book in the works) that I am now ready to prepare for you. After the Advanced Training seminar next weekend (which I sense is going to be a uniquely special experience for us all), I will begin to pull those together so I can hand over some new material to you this fall. In the meantime, please know that the material that is out there now, particularly in Detox For Women (but all of it in effect) has never been more accurate or more timely. So as I gather more information to reinforce the foundational information in my previous books, writings and audios, bear in mind that the cornerstone has already been created. Keep studying, keep contemplating and integrating the material according to where you are each day on the transitional bridge.

I send my Love, Praise and Gratitude to you All always and I look forward to the day when you are all masters of your physicality so that you never suffer a moment for being in human form — but rather enjoy the experience immensely because of it!

Your constant surfing companion on the Great Life Wave — Kowabunga!

Ana Ladd-Griffin

Hi There Everyone!

In addition to all of the other hats she is wearing here at Natalia Rose Institute, Ana Ladd-Griffin is also going to be managing the questions that come through the Natalia Rose Institute submissions inbox (they will no longer be coming to my inbox directly).

I love reading your mail and Ana will share much of it with me but in order for me to be of service to you and keep creating new content that will help you along on your path I cannot spend hours each day in front of the computer answering one email at a time.

Ana is fully equipped with the knowledge and the heart to be a sure-footed guide to any of you that reaches out to her. All I ask is that prior to sending her a question you read all the information on the website (all the books, blogs – both current and archived as well as the FAQs) to find your answers (which you will find therein more often than not). I have strictly advised Ana not to spend time responding to questions that are already answered in the Natalia Rose Institute books and online content. Spending time answering the same questions (99 percent of the time they are the same core questions) prevents us from using our resources to move forward with all the important information we still need to share with you. Yes, there is more — so much more!

As always, we encourage you to send us your testimonials and always appreciate your personal stories and suggestions for improving the site. Your input is extremely valuable to us as we wish to provide you with the best support possible. Ana is also available for personal consultations; her reputation for excellent counsel is spreading quickly. I am no longer seeing private clients but Ana is an adept at this work and I encourage those of you looking for personalized guidance to reach out to her. She can be reached at Ana@Detoxtheworld.com. You can read more about personal consultations with Ana here: http://www.detoxtheworld.com/about-personal-consultations-with-natalia-rose.php

Please keep checking the Events Page: http://www.detoxtheworld.com/events.php for upcoming gatherings as we have such a wonderful time together at our hikes and Detox Dates parties and I look forward to meeting more of you on these special occasions!

I will be traveling through the end of August but this Fall will bring many wonderful opportunities to connect!

With Love of Service to each of you,

Natalia
